Asilia new work and projects in progress

There's been no easing into 2011 for us. We've had a great number of enquiries and exciting new commissions that are keeping us super busy.

Yesterday, Microsoft launched IE9, the latest in its series of IE browsers.

As any web developer will tell you, IE browsers are notorious for being rogue browsers. They have previously (at least up to IE6 and IE7) adhered to their own standards which meant you essentially had to have two versions of your website - the non-IE (for all other browsers) and IE version.

gKenya entrance

gKenya was the buzz-word coined by Google Kenya for their 3-day conference held at Strathmore University from the 6th to the 8th of September. 

For all who are familiar with Google's success story, this was a once-in-a-lifetime event which no developer could afford to miss. Some of my friends even had arrangements made to have the event streamed to them in real-time just in case there was a possibility of them getting caught up with something else!

I listened to a fascinating Ted Talk the other day, by researcher Charles Leadbeater. After visiting slums around the world, he affirms that radical innovation does indeed often take place out of necessity.

He is particularly interested in innovation in education and the young people he met in South America, Africa and Asia all illustrated that to be effective, education needs to pull rather than push. He asks us to
