Famine in the Horn of Africa was big news a few months ago but although media attention on the crisis has faded, the situation is still very serious for millions of people. The Egyptian-based infographics and data visualization lab, Bayanat, got in touch with us about collaborating to put the Horn of Africa back in the spotlight again. The result is an infographic highlighting the need, responses so far and what we can still do to help. 

It was a lot of fun working with Bayanat – I learned some interesting things (e.g. Friday and Saturday constitutes the weekend in Egypt). Most of all, the international attention the graphic has already received is encouraging news that people are still engaged about the challenge. I'm hoping that the next step is action!
