I was in the library earlier today when I noticed a book called Half the Sky. It tells the stories of extraordinary women around the world who are empowering their communities by becoming "economic catalysts."

It appears to be yet another testament to the incredible value of paying attention to, educating and liberating women. It reminded me of this touching (and beautifully crafted) animation for The Girl Effect:
